U2 comienza su andadura por el año 1976, en la ciudad de Dublin, cuando Larry Mullen colocó una nota en el tablón de anuncios de la escuela, pidiendo gente para montar un grupo.A Larry pronto se le unió Adam Clayton, Bono y los hermanos The Edge y Dick. Al principio sólo interpretaban versiones de temas conocidos, pero enseguida comenzaron a componer sus propias canciones.
